Playsafer™ RubberBond

RubberBond is a unique unitary surface with safety performance unmatched by traditional poured-in-place surfaces.

Rated at 16’ fall height protection, RubberBond raises the standard for safety.

Our unique hybrid system combines the superior safety ratings associated with loose-ll systems with the accessibility, low maintenance and design options that a unitary surface provides. RubberBond’s compacted cushion layer is patent pending, softer, safer, and environmentally friendly. Our cushion layer is topped with a full 1.5 inch thick top layer. That’s 3 times thicker than standard poured-in-place!

RubberBond can be installed over a variety of substrates eliminating the need for a costly concrete or asphalt sub-base.

Did You Know?

That the safety performance of a playground surface cannot exceed 1000 HIC (Head Injury Criteria) at anytime throughout its life cycle? While most traditional poured-in-place systems are safety-rated close to the upper limit of 1000 HIC, RubberBond has been designed with HIC performance under 300 HIC. You can be assured that it will always comply with safety standards at any age and in all weather conditions.

FAQ's about Playsafer RubberBond

How is RubberBond different compared to traditional poured-in-place?

Unlike traditional poured-in-place RubberBond utilizes a unique loose ll rubber under layer combined with a full 1.5 inch thick poured-in-place top layer.

Why should I consider using RubberBond?

Our loose ll under layer provides superior shock absorption with HIC numbers under 400 at 12 feet.

This level of safety performance is not possible with traditional poured systems. Our top layer is made with recycled SBR rubber which is significantly stronger than EPDM. At 1.5 inches thick, our top layer is three times thicker than traditional poured systems translating into better wear characteristics and a longer life span.

How thick is RubberBond?

RubberBond is 5 inches thick consisting of a 3.5 inch cushion layer and a 1.5 inch top layer.

What are the maintenance requirements?

Routine maintenance is not required. Since RubberBond is made with a pigmented urethane to achieve color, some fading will occur over time. A color rejuvenating coating may be considered after 5-6 years of use.

How does pricing compare to traditional poured systems?

Due to the high recycled content, efficient installation process, and versatile sub-surface preparation requirements RubberBond is generally more cost-effective compared to traditional poured-in-place.
